Some PDF files are designed for offset printing. Such printers do not use RGB ink; instead, they use CMYK ink and require inverted images.
File Juicer can effectively extract these images. However, unless you have a photo editing application that handles CMYK, such as Adobe Photoshop, you might prefer to manage them differently.
To extract CMYK images losslessly, ensure that the PDF option is selected in File Juicer's preferences. This means that File Juicer will extract the CMYK images as PDF files from your main PDF document. You can then open these PDF images and view them with the intended CMYK rendering on your screen.
Apple's Preview app allows you to do this easily. Open the CMYK image PDF extracted by File Juicer and use the Preview app's Export menu to save it as a JPEG.
