EPUB ebooks
EPUB is the standard ebook format used by most ebook readers and apps, including Apple Books, Kobo and Adobe Digital Editions. An EPUB file is a ZIP archive containing HTML pages, stylesheets and all the images in the book.
What File Juicer can extract from EPUB
File Juicer can extract all the images embedded in an EPUB file:
- Cover art and chapter illustrations stored as JPEG or PNG
- Diagrams, maps and other inline images
Drop the EPUB file onto File Juicer and it will unpack the archive and save every image it finds into a folder alongside the original file.
Where EPUB files come from
EPUBs are widely used for novels, non-fiction, textbooks and technical documentation. Many sources distribute DRM-free EPUB files directly, including Project Gutenberg, publisher websites and the IETF and W3C standards bodies.
DRM-protected EPUB files
EPUB files protected with Adobe DRM or Apple FairPlay cannot be opened by File Juicer. The contents are encrypted and require the original app and account to access. File Juicer can only extract from unprotected EPUB files.
