MP3 files
ID3 tags and album artwork
File Juicer can extract album artwork embedded in MP3 files. Artwork is stored in ID3 tags and is typically JPEG or PNG, though the standard allows other formats too. File Juicer's text extraction will also recover the text portions of the ID3 tags such as title, artist and album.
MP3 inside other formats
MP3 files can be embedded inside other file formats such as PowerPoint presentations, Word documents and Windows EXE files. File Juicer can extract the MP3 from those containers.
Damaged MP3 files
MP3 files that have been split or corrupted by a disk error can often still be partially recovered. Because MP3 is a frame-based format, audio from both halves of a split file can be extracted and saved as separate files.
Album Wrap
Album Wrap (.albw) files are an old and rare format made by splicing several MP3 files into a single download. File Juicer can split them back into individual tracks if the ID3 tags are still present. The extension .albw is uncommon -- these files are more often identified by "ALBW" appearing in the filename.
