Files of this type are usually computer viruses, sent from a PC which has your email address. Windows viruses does not infect Macs, but you should not send this file to others who use Windows

If you save the file on your hard disk (it is already there) you can test it with Clam AntiVirus or with online scanner where you can upload the file and have it investigated.

Alternatively try avast if the Clam AV does not get up and running again.
