PSD - Photoshop
PSD is Adobe Photoshop's native file format. It stores the full layer structure of a document alongside a flattened composite preview. PSD files can be large as they preserve all editing data.
What File Juicer can extract from PSD
- The JPEG preview image embedded when the file was saved
- Metadata set in File Info (IPTC, XMP) as text
Opening PSD files without Photoshop
macOS Preview can open PSD files and shows the flattened composite. Affinity Photo can open PSD files with full layer support at a one-time cost. GIMP is a free alternative that also reads PSD files.
PSD inside other files
File Juicer can also find and extract PSD files embedded inside other files such as ZIP archives or EXE installers.
